When it came to crime and punishment, the Romans were especially vile. Their horrible methods included all kinds of torture, but the punishment that brought fame to Rome is gladiatorial fighting. A seemingly just way of punishing, the prisoner or offender is given a chance to be freed. This, in their opinion, is a just and fair way of punishing... Or is it?
